On March 28, 2024, as an internal event, GLIN participated in volunteering at the children’s cafeteria operated by the nonprofit organization Ringo no Tane, which implements the “Project to Support Children’s Future” mainly in Itabashi-ku, Tokyo.
Recently, the child poverty rate in Japan has been on the rise since the 1980s, and today it is estimated that as many as one in seven children live in poverty1. Children’s cafeterias not only support children’s health and nutrition but also serve as places to promote community cohesion and regional solidarity.
Through the volunteer activities at the children’s cafeteria, we participated in this time, we were able to directly address social issues that are difficult to approach through daily work.
GLIN will continue to work for social change through various means to solve social issues facing Japan.
